MISSION & OUTREACH
Mission Trips

A mission trip is a profound and life-changing experience.  It is an opportunity for adults and youth to move safely out of their secure worlds into one of hardship and need and to witness, first-hand, the power of a few individuals working faithfully together towards a common goal.

Emmanuel Church mission trips are challenging, memorable and inspirational.  They bring out the best in all who participate - empathy, humility, understanding, personal sacrifice, hard work and compassion.

In 2008 our older Youth traveled to Caguas, Puerto Rico on June 29 - July 4th to carry out light construction, home repairs and other forms of much needed community service.

In June, 2009 our pre-teens carried out their missions in Beaufort, South Carolina.  The youth were part of a Week of Hope that is organized through Group Work Camps.  The youth participated in community service work and ministered to the people they served. Many thanks to Jennifer Armstrong for organizing this trip and to Bruce Troetschel for joining Jennifer and the youth on this trip.

Jennifer is already working on plans for another Week of Hope trip to York, PA in July, 2010.
