O come, let us sing unto the Lord:
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation
Music at Emmanuel Church is an offering to the glory of God. We are blessed with a lively and vibrant music program that includes an Adult Choir, a Handbell Choir, a Gospel Folk Band and many talented people who accompany these groups from time to time with musical instruments. Katherine Jameson, our Organist/Choirmaster, is always looking for new members. No experience necessary!
We have music at both the 9 am and 11 am services. The music is chosen to complement the lessons and the sermon text, as well as the liturgical year.
Songs at the 9am Family Service are chosen from a songbook. Hymns at the 11 am service are chosen from three sources, the Episcopal Hymnal, its supplement Wonder Love & Praise, and Lift Every Voice and Sing (LEVAS), an African American Hymnal containing a collection of spirituals, gospel songs, and evangelical hymns.
