The Set-Up will begin at 8 am at Sky Meadows. Even if you can only give a couple of hours you are needed! If you can help call Rob or Betsy Porter at 347-5812
On May 23, 2007, Tom left us for a better place, where I am sure he is still doing amazing things!
May 23, 2008 is Strawberry festival set up and I do remember how much Tom and everyone put in on this day and there was still more to give on the next two days.
Kate, Justin and I, would like to give back to you for Tom and us, we would like anyone who still has any energy left (or not!) after set up to drop by and share some food, drink and memories. Please come from 4pm - 9pm and bring a folding chair. No RSVP necessary just whoever comes is great. Street Address 4057 Meadowood Lane, Marshall, Va. 20115
Thank you all so very much for all the support, love and care you have given us since Tom died . Hope to see you soon.
Geri, Kate and Justin
THE FESTIVAL May 24th & May 25th
Many of us don’t need any reminders because we’ve been working on the festival for the better part of the past year. Many other long time volunteers are again looking forward to spending Memorial Day weekend at Sky Meadows State Park, while still others may be wondering what they can do to help. Regardless of whether you are a long time Parishioner and festival volunteer or a relative new comer, we need your help. Although the festival is a lot of work, it is also a lot of fun and a wonderful opportunity to further our mission statement and to give back to the community while working closely with friends.
Honestly, we can't think of any place we would rather be than at the Strawberry Festival, and we hope to see all of you there helping to make it another great success.

Website Launch
If you have reached this page, you will see that we have updated the original website. This was done for several reasons: to welcome and inform visitors and newcomers about Emmanuel Church and our activities; to serve as an electronic bulletin board & on-line newsletter for parishioners; to "go green" and decrease our dependence on printed mailings; to reduce the financial burden of increasing postage costs; to conserve administrative time; and finally, in recognition that we have entered a digital age and that, to spread the word about the wonders of Emmanuel Church as widely as it deserves, we must now do so electronically.
After you have had time to look around the site, we would appreciate your feedback and suggestions. Contact Helen Christian at mongooses@hughes.net

Clergy Leadership Project
Kira has been chosen as one of 30 participants in the twenty-third class of the Clergy Leadership Project. Several hundred clergy were nominated from across the nation and participants were selected on the basis of talent, experience, geography, leadership ability, and other criteria.
The Clergy Leadership Project is a national initiative formed to develop and strengthen clergy leaders, supporting new visions for vigorous ministries in their congregations and communities as well as support their personal growth. Trinity Church, Wall Street in New York City and The Episcopal Church Foundation initially funded this leadership model. Today Trinity Church is the sole sponsor of the project.
Kira attended a six day conference, April 6-11,2008 in Cornwall, CT., and will continue to meet with her clergy colleagues for another three sessions as they prepare to equip themselves for the vigorous task of leading the church in the 21st century. The next session Kira will attend will be September 7-12, 2008.
