Worship Ministries

Acolytes
The Acolytes are the torch bearers who carry the light of the Gospel to the people of the church.  They lead the procession with cross and torches in and out of the services and assist the clergy at the altar.  Contact: Kelly LeTard

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares the worship space for all services, cares for the vessels, linens and vestments and arranges the flowers that adorn the altar.

Adult Education
Under the guidance of our rector, volunteers lead our weekly lectionary based Adult Education class.

Chalice Bearers
The Chalice Bearers assist the clergy in the distribution of Communion.

Coffee Hour
Working in pairs, parishioners host this weekly cornerstone of Emmanuel fellowship following the main worship service at 11 am.  Contact: Melissa Nobile

Greeters
Extend a warm welcome to all Sunday morning worshipers, particularly newcomers, to the church.  Contact: Anna Hawkins

Lectors / Lay Readers
The Lectors assist in the worship services by reading the Scripture lessons and the Prayers of the People.  Contact: Mary Kay Cabell

Sunday School
Teachers lead classes for pre-K (3 year olds) through 12th grade every Sunday during the academic year (September through May).  Contact: Ross Armstrong

Ushers
The Ushers greet everyone at the church door, distribute the bulletins, collect the offering and help facilitate the flow of people as they receive communion.

Youth Leaders
Volunteer adults help coordinate youth activities, particpate in mission trips and facilitate outreach opportunities.   Contact: Ross Armstrong
