Pre K-Kindergarten will be led by Ginger Harris
My children Daniel and Annie will be teaching the Pre K /K class, with me. Our plan is to teach the best-known and beloved stories from the Bible to introduce and reinforce the message that God and Jesus are here taking care of us. Each class will consist of story time, then games, crafts, and activities that relate to the lesson and the children’s world.
The 1st & 2nd Grade class will be led by Mert Cook
"Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of GOD belongs." Mark 10:14
In our class this year children will explore stories and people from the Bible in an exciting and creative way. The kids will experience learning the Bible from not only hearing stories, but also seeing and feeling the stories. We will invite all the senses to experience a journey of creative learning and the children will then be asked to wonder, play and express what they have learned through art, writing, music or acting.
The children will also have the opportunity to work on several "mission" projects throughout the year. They will gain confidence and joy in helping others and realize how important they are in our parish as well as our world. The children will also learn that they can make a difference no matter their size. I look forward to seeing all the kids grow this year along with me! Thanks, Mert
The 3rd-5th Grade class will be led by Jennifer Armstrong
I plan to create lessons that follow the lectionary, so that what the kids are hearing in Sunday school will be revisited in church. The class will meet in the Sunday school room that has the cubbies. Crafts, games, movement activities, role playing, and other activities will engage the children.
The 6th-8th Grade class will be led by Ross Armstrong and Julie McCarty
We are using the Living the Good News curriculum, which follows the lectionary. Our topics this fall will be: Faith in Action, Childlike Humility, The Gifts of God's People, God's Plan for Companionship, God of Impossibilities, The Call to Discipleship, A Celebration of Saints, The Joy of Generosity, The Coming of Christ Paradoxical King
Activities will include group discussions, individual reflection and writing, simulations, mini-projects, art, etc...
