Packing Boxes

serve the world

Blessing Of the Backpacks

Every August, we hold a drive for backpacks and school supplies. Hundreds of backpacks, notebooks, pencils, folders, etc. have been collected over the years and donated to Claude Thompson Elementary school. Our mission is to make sure every student has the necessary materials to have a successful school year. The items are blessed during a special service and distributed at the start of school.

Christmas Gift

Adopt a family

Emmanuel believes strongly in the call to serve Christ in others. One of the ways we live into our mission is by adopting families from our local Elementary school each year at Christmas. We provide gifts, household items, and winter apparel for our neighbors in need.

The giving room

This new initiative at Emmanuel was created out of the need to serve those in emergency situations. Cleaning supplies, toiletry kits, cases of water, first aid kits, and food are collected throughout the year and distributed when a need arises. Just this past year, we were able to take two carloads of supplies to a hurricane relief truck going to Puerto Rico. The Giving Room is located in the Christian Education Wing of Jameson Hall.

Mission Trips

Emmanuel has always been a “hands on” church. Throughout the years, we have traveled all over the country (Kentucky, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania) and beyond (Puerto Rico and Haiti) to offer assistance to communities in need. There are opportunities for youth and adults. Plans are underway for a youth trip to Philadelphia this summer. If you are passionate about traveling, meeting new folks, and assisting with repairs and building projects please consider joining us on our next trip.

Dog in Action

Blessing Of The animals

On the Feast of St. Francis, the Patron Saint of animals, our furry (and not so furry) friends join us for our morning worship service for a special pet blessing. In addition to the pet blessing, food and supplies are collected at the beginning of October and given to our local animal shelters.
